Know Your Customer (KYC) / Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Policy

Our Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) policy is designed to verify the identities of individuals and organizations using our platform to prevent fraud, money laundering, and other illicit activities.


Objectives of the KYC/CDD Policy

  1. Verify Identity: Ensure that all individuals and organizations onboarded are genuine and meet GivingHeart’s standards.
  2. Prevent Fraud: Minimize the risk of fraudulent activities on our platform.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Align with global and local legal requirements, including anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) regulations.
  4. Promote Trust: Build a trusted environment for donors and charitable organizations.

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Individuals (e.g., donors, representatives, ambassadors, agents, and associates).
  • Organizations (e.g., churches, mosques, NGOs, and other charities) onboarded on the GivingHeart platform.

KYC/CDD Process

  1. Identity Verification:

    • Individuals: Provide a valid government-issued ID (e.g., passport, driver’s license, national ID).
    • Organizations: Submit official registration documents, tax identification numbers, and proof of operations.
  2. Address Verification:

    • Submit a utility bill, bank statement, or lease agreement with the individual’s or organization’s registered address.
  3. Background Checks:

    • Review the history and reputation of the organization and its leadership.
    • Ensure no association with illicit or unlawful activities.
  4. Risk Assessment:

    • Assess potential risks based on the organization’s size, geographic location, and nature of operations.
  5. Ongoing Monitoring:

    • Periodically review and update customer information.
    • Monitor transactions for unusual or suspicious activities.

Key Requirements for Onboarding

  1. Individuals:

    • Complete the GivingHeart registration process.
    • Submit all required documentation for verification.
  2. Organizations:

    • Provide evidence of legitimate operations and charitable activities.
    • Assign a Representative to manage technical and operational aspects of the platform.

Data Security and Privacy

GivingHeart adheres to strict data protection policies to safeguard personal and organizational information. All data collected during the KYC/CDD process is stored securely and used solely for compliance purposes.


Non-Compliance

Failure to comply with the KYC/CDD requirements may result in:

  • Rejection of the registration application.
  • Suspension or termination of access to the GivingHeart platform.

Policy Review

The KYC/CDD policy is reviewed periodically to ensure compliance with evolving legal and regulatory standards.
